Mae chats with Natali Plasencia, baker and manager at La Esperanza in Sacramento, and Lane Montgomery, owner and winemaker at M2 Winery in Lodi, about an upcoming fundraiser.

Sacramento Self-Help Housing will host the 14th Annual "Let Them Eat Cake" fundraiser on July 14th, which will bring together local bakeries and wine brands to benefit a good cause.

Sacramento Self-Help Housing is a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating homelessness in our region by identifying positive solutions and workable alternatives for those dealing with homelessness or unstable living situations.

Plasencia explains that La Esperanza wants to help the homeless in her community by providing specialty cake, Mexican pastries and other tasty treats.

Montgomery says non-profit is something he has always been passionate about. By providing wine for the event, it allows him to help the homeless in a great way.

All funds raised will go toward helping homeless in the area. Tickets are $40 per person when bought in advance, and $50 at the door. The event will be a mix of different local businesses taking part in cake viewings, samplings, and wine tasting.

"Let Them Eat Cake" will take place at The Grand Ballroom at 1215 J Street in Sacramento from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
